Cookie Policy

Last updated October 14, 2026

This page lists every cookie and browser-storage item that outpacetrade.com and the Outpace Trade app put on your device, what each one does, and how you control them. It is written by Outpace Holdings LLC, doing business as Outpace Trade.

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognize you on your next request, for example to keep you signed in. Browsers also offer "local storage" and "session storage", which work like cookies but are not sent to the server. We list those here too.

Two kinds, and only two

Essential. These make the site work: they keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice, and remember settings you pick in the app. They cannot be switched off, because without them you could not sign in.

Analytics, only if you accept. Our analytics tool, PostHog, helps us see which pages and features get used so we can improve them. It sets nothing until you click Accept in our cookie banner.

We use no advertising cookies, and no other company sets cookies on our site to follow you around the web.

How you control them

On your first visit, a bar at the bottom of the page asks whether you accept analytics. Reject, and PostHog is never downloaded. Accept, and it starts. You can change your mind at any time: most pages, including this one, have a Cookie settings link in the footer that opens the same bar. Rejecting after accepting removes the PostHog items from your browser and reloads the page without them.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a rejection. The bar does not ask you, and analytics stay off.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the essential ones, you will not be able to sign in.

Essential cookies and storage

sb-xqdwtxlivrlnnlofghoq-auth-token-code-verifierA one-time helper used while you finish signing in with Google or an email link.outpacetrade.com (Supabase)CookieRemoved when sign-in completes (up to 400 days if you never finish)
op_consentRemembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we do not ask on every visit. It holds only that choice, no identifier.outpacetrade.comCookie180 days, or until you change your choice
op_signupA one-time security check for new sign-ups. When you ask to sign up, it notes that this browser started the sign-up, so the link in your email only signs you in on this browser, not on someone else's if the email is forwarded. It holds an expiry time and a scrambled code made from your email address, not the address itself.outpacetrade.comCookie2 hours, or until you finish signing up
App settings (several keys)Remembers choices you make in the app: cards you dismissed, panels you opened or closed, onboarding progress, and a copy of the account size and risk you enter in the position-size calculator. These stay in your browser. (Values you save in Settings are stored in your account, see section 1 of the Privacy Policy.)outpacetrade.comLocal storage and session storageUntil you clear your browser data (session storage: when you close the tab)
outpace:last-analysisKeeps your most recent analysis in the open tab, so it is still there when you move between pages and come back. Not sent to us.outpacetrade.comSession storageUntil you close the tab

Analytics cookies and storage (only after you accept)

After you accept, PostHog gives your browser a random ID and uses it to record: pages you view, buttons you click, how far you scroll (from which it builds click and scroll heatmaps across all visitors), and named actions such as joining the waitlist, your two onboarding answers, and each ticker you analyze with the grade it received. If you are signed in, your account ID is attached, never your email address. PostHog keeps your country and continent and discards your IP address. It does not record your screen. The full list is in section 4 of our Privacy Policy.

What we do not use

No advertising or retargeting cookies. No social media buttons that report back to their networks. No tracking pixels on our pages. Our error-reporting tool (Sentry) sets no cookies.

Emails we send can include the kind of invisible image that tells the sender an email was opened, and links that record a click, if that option is switched on with our email provider. Opening or clicking does not set anything in your browser.

When this page changes

A new cookie or storage item is added to this page in the same release that adds it to the site. The date at the top changes, and the change is listed under Changes to this page below.

Changes to this page

  • October 14, 2026: Added op_signup, a short-lived security cookie that makes sign-up links work only in the browser where you asked for them.
  • October 8, 2026: Rewritten in our own words. The analytics section now says what PostHog records after you accept, including click and scroll heatmaps and the tickers you analyze, and the table adds the short-lived sign-in helper cookie.
  • October 7, 2026: Moved from Termly to this page. The cookie list now matches the site: added the sign-in cookie and browser storage for your settings, moved the PostHog items under Analytics (only with your consent), removed an incorrect security cookie, and removed the advertising text (we do not use advertising cookies).
  • September 29, 2026: Published on Termly.
